Batman and Robin, what can I say? Hell of a way for the UDCU to debut here, that's for sure.
A strong beginning to the tale of the Dark Knight, the interaction with the Joker was tight, and Batman and Nightwing's interractions around him ring true to form. You've done a great job starting to build a complex relationship between the two - it's a relationship I look forward to seeing develop even further as the stories go along.
The hook of bringing us that familiar scene in Crime Alley in a new twist is really well handled. You can really feel the impact of the scene, brief as it is, and I'm sure it will have ramifications for all these characters for a long time to come.
Some killer stuff here, next issue can't come fast enough.

First off, I thought the cover was great. I really like the Bat symbol at the top with the Robin symbol placed inside of it. Very nice touch to this series. Also the Batman silhouette coming off of Bruce is a classic sight. And finally, the white tears on the girl were well done and they really contrasted with the rest of the picture that’s mostly black and red. Nice job. As for the issue, it’s pretty much as I remember it from UDCU. The Joker scene seemed new but that could just be because it was the very first scene in the story. I think it’s an interesting story what with the Penguin running for mayor and Councilwoman Catwoman helping him out. Should be intriguing to see where it all leads to. Oh, one final comment - there was a number of typos in this issue. One in particular I remember from the old site - I remember that one because it always sounded like the murderer was going to be fined but I’m sure that’s not what you meant. Not a bad issue all around. I'll be back with the next one to see how things progress.

The Joker stuff in the beginning was a great addition, I think it worked well to add some classic Batman in the first issue like that. But really, this one's about setting up the characters and relationships, and you do that really well. And of course, I'm still a fan of the Penguin for Mayor subplot I do think this one's a great choice to debut us. You represent UDCU well

Well I am not a UDCUer, so I have no previous experience of this story. But the title alone makes me think "The way it's supposed to be...."
So, Dick's tenure has come and gone, he's Nightwing now, and the chemistry between them is clearly gone. It's time for a new Robin....but that Robin is Carrie!
I look forward to the dynamic between them.
As for Selina and Oswald, I'm intrigued.....

First of all thanks to those of you who've read and enjoyed my first issue here on DC3. Espeically those who've commented so far, and will comment in the future. I appreacate all comments, suggestions and constructive critisism. Second, a HUGE thanks to Borize for his excellent cover art. And now some response to various comments. As for the issue, it’s pretty much as I remember it from UDCU. The Joker scene seemed new but that could just be because it was the very first scene in the story. Yep, for those who read the original on the old UDCU site the Joker scene is new, while the rest is pretty much the same with a few additions here and there. So, Dick's tenure has come and gone, he's Nightwing now, and the chemistry between them is clearly gone. It's time for a new Robin....but that Robin is Carrie! Actually in UDCU Dick was never Robin, indeed there has yet to be a Robin. Dick appeared on the heroing scene as Nightwing. James

Good stuff. The debut of the Gotham Knights in slightly changed form is cool to see. Carrie Kelly will probably be a good addition to the team and the stories with Oswald and Calc should prove to be interesting.
I should figure out something to write here...

I finally found the time to read this and I have to say I liked it. I'm not a big Batman fan anymore for a few years, but I have to say I found this story very interesting. I'll be back to check the next issue out.

Interesting. Not bad. Good character interactions, doesn't waste any time on origin stories, cuts straight the chase. Nice use of Cobblepot and Selina. My main criticism is that there were times that it seemed that the scenes weren't fleshed out enough. I didn't always get a clear mental image of the setting.
