So here we go.
Speed Force #01 is finished and ready. I look forward to hearing what everyone thinks.
Kick ass cover by Hannes, huh?
Big thanks to Don as well for looking it over and making sure it's technically sound.

As before, I really like it.
There's some great rounding out of the different characters so that it truly feels like the Flash Family (Hence 'Speed Force' rather than Flash)- I particularly loved the depiction of Bart Allen, and you showed Iris as a strong character despite the fact that she doesn't technically do that much.
You nailed the Rogues perfectly- the scene where they take out the punk and he thinks they're just two nobodies is classic, especially their complete lack of any fear whatsoever. I also dig that the Rogues now seem to be almost like gang leaders rather than just a gang themselves, since you reference them using red shirts in their different robberies and their "giving orders" to the Keystone underworld to not interfere on that day. A different take to others, and an interesting one.
Your dialogue is definitely the best feature of the issue- it flows naturally and informs the reader without ever becoming expository, which can be quite hard to do.
If I had to pick out negatives, there are just two minor points- I would have liked to see more of Wally, and inside his head, in this issue, since he is after all the speedster supreme- we never really get to see what he's thinking during the destruction at the end, for instance, which is over (pardon the pun) in a flash. The second point, which is even more niggling, is that some of the descriptions could stand to be expanded a bit.
Overall, a great issue, and I look forward to #2.

Great first issue. I liked how you started it. I almost had tears in my eyes. Good work on that. But the best scene was the Rogues. I agree with Merai. I really like them being some kind of gang leaders. I'll definately check out the next issue.
And a great first cover from the artist.

Ok. I ran through this one. Feels the same as the one from the old board. So, obviously, I loved it. Great job, Eric. Be checking with ya soon. Jay

Well... that was... well...
THAT WAS FREAKING GREAT.
From the heart wrenching intro, to the Flash talent tributes (Infantino, Broome, Gardner, etc), through the obvious respect for Barry the Rouges showed, through out a tight and solid story and characterization... that was just fantastic.
As a big Flash fan I think this is one of the best 'feels' I've read for the characters in an fanfics I've come across.
Everything clicked great. Just a stellar job!

What a way to start a series! With the death of a hero! I knew it'd be worth reading this, especially considering the glowing sell that Don gave it over on YIM!
Spot on characterisation:
That was just beautiful. I love those kind of drops.
The overall tone, I thought, was wonderful. This subtle kind of sadness that just permeated every word. You introduce every character concisely, and because I've seen the covers behind the scenes, I was afraid I'd be lost amongst a sea of unfamiliar speedsters, but no! You keep everyone well balanced, and I cannot wait to see where you go with all these pieces you're arranging on the board. (God, I'm really laying on the metaphors thick today, aren't I?)
You know what though? The one thing I love when I read a different writer on any Flash book? How they present running. It's always an easy trap to fall back on (there's an early issue of The Flash on DC2, #6, I believe, that just kills me. Because it's so damn'd... Obvious) because that's what The Flash does, but some writers can lay it on a bit thick, you know? But this is just perfection. What a Flash book should be, but I guess this isn't a Flash book... It's an ensemble piece, right?
Rogues? Spot on. In fact, I should just shut up, because I'll sound like a broken record. This issue, as a first issue of a new series, was awesome. Everything was awesome. I'll be back!

Had to come check this out due to Bart's appearances in Countdown to Zero Hour and Zero Hour (and due to RocketeerZ's recomondation) and I am glad I did. Excellent first issue. A lot of heart went into this and it shows. I like the tone this book took and will try and cacth up with all of the rest of the issues going forward soon.
