This here is one of the finest and moodiest pieces you've ever written, very well balanced and nuanced, eerily creepy yet filled with pathos. An incredible job.
This issue is all about Renee and I think it's great to see how she fits into the grand scheme of things.
It's great to see the woman behind the cowl especially contrasting her experiences as Batgirl with her experiences as a cop. This was a most effective way to really let us in and start to learn more about her.
You also do well to show us her support network, both on and off the force. Her relations with the Gordon's both Barbara and Jim will no doubt help her over the course of her time as Batgirl.
This is easily one of the creepiest villains I've come across and I'm really excited for people to see what you do with him, it's honestly nothing short of amazing.
The cover is equally effective - moody and it perfectly captures the atmosphere of the piece. Well done Borize!
Hell of a job, I can't wait for the next one.

Very Creepy. Those that prey on children, whatever their motives, always are.
At first I thought it was a simple revenge motivation, but why go on to another killing? Unless it's all the members of that old gang of the father of the first child.....
And don't think I didn't notice that Babs is *pretending* to be crippled!

I read this story back then when I drew the cover. It was a great read and the bad guy is really creepy. I'm looking forward to see more of Harley and Ivy, though.

Even better than issue 1! This is the Gotham that I know and love. Creepiness and sadness everywhere, a real feel of dread hanging over the city.
I'm starting to like Renee here more than I do at DC at the moment.
The cover was outstanding as well. Worked perfectly with the story. Excellent job, Riz! On to issue 3!

That cover was awesome, I thought. Really set the tone for the story. And the opening scene? Went wonderfully hand in hand with that image. Really good synergy between the two pieces. And the whole atmosphere established reminds me of what I tried to do with a lot of my own Batman stories, and also the occasional Question piece. I'm jealous! "Don't say a word." Horrific way to end the opening. Like an episode of Law & Order. Brilliant! Loved Renee being torn by her duty as a vigilante and as a cop. Very fitting. I'm also enjoying the position of Batgirl instead of Batman here. They're alike, but different, and there's the same relationship between the GCPD, if I'm not mistaken? Renee's interaction with Barbara was tight. Dialogue seems to be your strong suit, and I lol'd at "the fuzz" comment. Quite a British word that. Not one I use myself or anything I like the clues being laid out for us, and the imagery of the dead mockingbird was... Brutal? But kind of elegant in a way that really... I don't know. Weird. Also like the description of Renee's costume. A lot of attention to detail going on here, and that always pays off. And that final cliffhanger? Soft, but quite effective.
