This is just incredibly moody, you really help to put us right back into the heart of the mystery very quickly and you give us a second tragic murder scene right off the bat, but it helps to really establish Renee as Batgirl in a way they've yet to establish her as The Question over in the DCU.
The chat with the killer and his daughter is equally creepy, but it gives us a fair amount of insight into his personality and his motive. Between this and the scene with Renee and Babs, we're starting to get a good sense of what's going on, but I think it's still an effective mystery.
The mystery unravels in a very deliberate fashion, as the pieces fall into place just at the right time. As a reader, I'm glad, don't think I had it in me to go through another crime scene of this nature, so I'm glad Batgirl was all out of bubblegum and went to town on him.
The final reveal is just perfect. I won't mention it here, and I expect others will show that same courtesy, but suffice it to say, it's note perfect and makes a tremendous amount of sense in context.
The epilogue is a nice touch, a great pick-me-up from the rest of the issue, which I think is much needed and very effective. Nice to see Harley and Ivy together, but it's creepy in a completely different way and a tremendous tease for the next episode and the next arc.
Way to go, hell of a ride and it's only getting started.
The cover is great as well, I love the composition. The facial expression of the guy bothers me a little, doesn't really seem to gel with what's in the issue itself, but the structure of the issue, Batgirl and the way the child's face is rendered and brought into the image is all top-notch.

a very good issue. So sad and tragic, I almost understood the poor guy. You did a fanastic job with this two part story arc. Well done Nice epilogue. It makes you want to come back to find out what happens next. Well done!

Very sad.....the use of the photo of the child in the cover was chillingly effective...

Kind of struck me that Renee's quite a naive character, isn't she? Or unfamiliar with the old rhyme? I don't know, that kind of bugged me, but didn't pull me out at all Kind of getting an idea of this guy's psychosis too, and very creepy it is. Don't like his daughter at all, not one bit. He's insane! And he believes in his insanity, and that's never a good thing! And why do creeps have to be so sexist? They're just going to get their teeth kicked in, aren't they? What's the point of encouraging them? There you go making me feel bad for the murderer. That's a very nice thing, I think, to be able to do. Shows skill. And I kind of suspected that to be the case with his murders, so it paid off in the end Renee shook her head. “I could use the walk.”
“Fine, brag about it.” But Barbara chuckled.... Lol.
