Well, I am glad to see that Supergirl is being written here. She's one of my favs. So I am glad it's being pursued.
Having said that though, I was lost when the scene shifted from Earth to Argo. It would have been better to have put headers to tell the reader where the scene was taking place.
This book was a little short, but shows a lot of potential so I will keep track of this title for sure.
Not a strong opener for me though.... It was alright. I'll give it *** from me.

I really liked this.
I think it's a strong introduction to the characters, asks a little more of the reader than most, but draws you into the lives of two very appealing characters, it's great to watch both Linda and Kara find themselves completely nonplussed by their meeting.
I followed the jump back and forth between Argo and Earth and had no problems with that. It was maybe a little Pulp Fiction-esque in the way it seemed to shift time periods, but I thought you made that work to your advantage.
There are lots of neat little moments, in-jokes and references that are a hallmark of your work, and I continue to be awed by how effortlessly you work them all in and make it seem so smooth. It's not something telegraphed, "I'm making a reference here!" type thing that you see so many writers fall into, but it sounds like the way normal people make them. That's not an easy thing to do.
I also liked the Kyrptonian equivalent of the universal translator of bablefish, and how inconvenient it must be to wear. I guess that's just incentive for our girl Kara to learn English.
I thought it was a great, quick read, and I'm really looking forward to the big stuff that I know you've got planned. I'll be here for the long haul and I think this title will quickly become a favorite of the readers here.
Can't wait to see what cover comes along for this, I'm sure it will do it justice.

I thought it was a bit short or maybe it was the fact I wanted more? I dont know ;D
my only comment would be that for issue 1 this story feels very rushed
but I'll check out #@

First off, I'm a huge Supergirl fan who has been SERVERLY disapointed in DCs handling of the character ever since the FANTASTIC Peter David book was cancelled.
I enjoyed this first issue a lot. The pairing of Linda Danvers (human) and Kara Zol-El (Kryptonian) as two seperate people who look like they are about to be freinds is an inspired idea.
I got a nice feeling of both strength and smarts from both Linda and Kara. I did think it was a tad short, but it was a good introduction to the series.I'm looking forward to more.
The cover was well done and the costume for Kara is quie interesting!

I enjoyed the relatively lighthearted tone and fundamental cheerfulness of Supergirl and Linda, and of course the Star Wars references, heh.
One small note is I think the bit in parenthesis about where in California the ship landed is a bit jarring.
But I agree the costume is cool!

That is doubtlessly my fault. I'll go in and fix that up, sorry it was jarring.
Take care Don

As usual, I enjoyed Supergirl #1. I have not read since the old site. I had forgotten most of the plot but it was refreshed rather quick. I forgot how much I enjoyed your title, James.
