First off, I think the concept of this book is excellent. I like the legacy idea a lot.
Using Mitch Shelly as the leader of (what seems to be) slighty younger heroes is brilliant.
The set up was well done. I like the idea of Promethius being the dangerous one man army that he was portrayed as here. I also liked Conner here. He's such a contrast to his father and really does exceed his legacy.
I thought some of the dialogue was a little corny and stiff, but the action was top notch and the little mysteries sprouting are very intruging.
The art and designs of the costumes are excellent, and the images throughout the story only enhanced the experiance.
I'm looking forward to the next issue. Nice job all around.

What a start to Earth-2, huh? I liked what you were doing with this, and you had a lot of little callbacks to the classics that just made me smile. Loved Jimmy as Perry XD The one complaint i did have was that the artwork was kind of distracting...it was all wonderful, but it broke up the story and kind of pulled me out.

Dave, I just re-read this issue for the (what was it... fifth... sixt time?) and have to say it again: THANK YOU for making this story come true, for adding so much depth to the characters and for being such a talented writer. I can't wait for next week when Brian's first Titans issue comes out and we start to expand the Earth-Two universe...

First off, I think the concept of this book is excellent. I like the legacy idea a lot. I agree! The idea came from Brandon "Killerseamonkey" Herren, one of the original co-founders of the DC2 and a freakin' genius of the Alan Moore/Grant Morrison variety. Speaking of geniuses... That one was all Riz. At first I was like "Whu...?" and he was all like: "Trust me, this works, he's a great character." And so I did, it did, and he does! Aren't I a lucky guy to have all this genius to work with ;D? Don't even get me started on having Brian onboard as editor... He had to be dangerous to take on the Justice League almost single-handedly (not discounting Silver Swan, at all). Actually, Riz blocked-out the fight in an outline, and I just filled-in the blanks. One of the easiest fight scenes I've ever written. I think I had the most fun with Connor. Next to Resurrection Man, Connor is the one I am least familiar with, but Riz sent me some good notes and, again, I kinda filled-in the blanks. He's not your daddy's Green Arrow--- but he's definately Oliver Queen's son! Riz has some cool Connor Hawke stuff coming up for you GA fans out there! Thanks for the feedback on the dialogue--- I will definately take a look at that. As for the mysteries--- like the man said: "You ain't seen nuttin' yet!"As I mentioned above, I have the pleasure of working with a genius. Riz has spent a lot of time and effort to develop Earth-Two, and it really shows. I hope I am up to the challenge of showing the world his vision in this series. Thanks for reading, Pat, and for the feedback!

Me, too! I resisted doing that at first (I've done something similar in my DC2 series Gotterdammerung), but it just seems natural; I guess Jimmy Olsen is destined to run a great metropolitan newspaper! Original Riz-art will do that to a person ! As long as Riz keeps pumping out the pretty pictures, I'm gonna keep puttingg them in the issue--- but maybe at the end, so they're not so distracting? Does that work better? Thanks for reading, and for the feedback, Mockingbird!

There aren't too many people out there who do what you do, Riz (the DC2/3 family is lucky enough to have a disproportionate amount of them, though), so all I can say is, the pleasure (and honor) is all mine. You give me great stuff to work with ;D. You and me both ;D. Talk about a guy who can write the hell out of a team book... That one is gonna be good!

Getting a chance to read this before many others was a privledge. By this point, it's no secret that I follow David's work like a rabid Wolfman fan. LOL! I also know how much time and effort Riz has put into this entire world, and folks, the guy has been working his butt off to create this world. I thought all the artwork was brilliant, and really loved his take on Connor (my personal favorite-of course) And speaking of Connor, David did a brilliant job with that character and honestly puts mine over at DC2 to shame. Once again showing how far I have to go to be in the same league with this guy! Prometheus was also bloody brilliant as the first villain. Written better than almost anyone over at DC proper has ever done! I really hope that I don't let David and Riz down next week. Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn't say... you are really missed, Brandon. But I hope you're achieving your dream... you deserve it.

Excellent work. The new League hits with a bang and establishes it's leading men and women wonderfully (Which is important to me). Connor is much different then how i've seen him presented, and it makes a lot of sense and it works. Shame to see Dr. Stein go after we just met him, but i'm sure it paves the way for something new.
Looking forward to the next issue and seeing more of these great characters.

See, now you know how to get me to comment on your stories every time. Just call me a genius somewhere in your feedback thread and I'll show up! Seriously though, I don't believe I deserve that kind of compliment, but I do very much admire the creators you named and I sincerely appreciate the thought behind it.
Great story guys! Turbo-charged Morrison-era action in the opening act, and a Robert E. Howard-type ancient mystery in the latter. It's always fun to see Lemuria get a mention. You know I love that stuff.
It really fun to see the characters from the initial Earth-2 proposal in action, plus all of the surprising new directions and ideas you have added to it. The original idea was to take the Silver Age DC and bring it forward in real time, to give writers and artists the full scope of DC's history and characters to play with - not to having the chance to explore their possible legacies. Well, I have to say you have expertly realized that concept here, Dave. And if this is any indication of what is to come I for one can't wait to see it. I'm excited to see what Brian's put together with the Titans!
And Riz, awesome job on the pin-ups integrated into the text. Again, I was reminded of the little pin-up poses you would get in Morrison's JLA when each character would get a little intro along with their logo. Too cool!

Getting a chance to read this before many others was a privledge. By this point, it's no secret that I follow David's work like a rabid Wolfman fan. LOL! Thank you, Brian! Same here. Your stuff has never disappointed--- and we share the Wolfman fandom, so we're writing precisely for each others' tastes! Too true! I cannot stress enough that this title is really the product of Riz's effort and devotion. I'm just happy he picked me (and Brian) to take along for the ride. Ditto! My favorite was Superman, but then I have a soft spot for the Man of Steel... Nonsense! (But thanks for saying so ) This was really my first exposure to the character, other than the research Riz pointed me to... He's quite the badass, isn't he? No worries on that account! This book was made for you, B. I am so looking forward to Titans! Hear that, Brandon: that's another voice in the multitude calling you home to the DC2/3... We'll keep a chair warm for you... Thanks for reading, Brian, and for the feedback!

Excellent work. The new League hits with a bang and establishes it's leading men and women wonderfully (Which is important to me). This is where the value of collaboration comes in: I wanted to start this series with an introductory issue, get to see the characters in situ, as it were--- but Riz wanted a big, action-packed debut, with a kick-ass set-piece battle. And, of course, he was right. Thanksfor saying so, UDC. Connor is a new character to me, and I am getting to know him as we create him... But stick around, because Riz has some pretty cool stuff planned for the Longbow Hunter! Well, he's not gone just yet--- and this is a comic book story, so there's no telling where this will go! Thank you very much! In the meantime, for another peek at Earth-Two, check out Titans debuting next week!

In that case, I am going to pepper my posts with "Brandon is a genius" non-sequiters until you're a regular again . Nice pick-up! I'm a big fan of the Lovecraft Circle, and love to reference elements of the mythos...! Well, I like to think that you laid the foundation and the framework, Riz is building the house, and Brian and I are decorating it. It's a brilliant concept, and one I'm intending to fully explore in an upcoming crossover with a certain DC2 title... Thank you, sir! I will work that much harder knowing the Conceptualizer is in the audience ! That is exactly what I had in mind when I posted them! Thanks for the feedback, buddy!

Thanks for the responses, Dave.
In re-reading the quotes I realized I had a typo that should have read, "and have the chance to explore their possible legacies." Not sure where that typo went wrong but I wanted to clarify as originally it sounded like I might be dismissing that part of it.
And I didn't want to short Riz's contribution to the story. Sounds like he had a lot of input on it so good job to you as well, sir!

The DC2 Flash issue was the perfect lead in to this, no accident I am sure.
I remember Prometheus from Morrison's JLA run quite clearly, and he is clearly realized here. Connor is like his DC self, only more....empowered. Which makes sense, given he's grown up a bit more. I especially like his ethical business!
The fight scene was awesome. I suspect The Key might be Prometheus' benefactor....
The scientist who found the sculpture might be corrupted or insane, watch that one!
And of course I am chomping at the bit for Titans!
Five stars!

He is the primary driving force behind Justice League Legacies. I'm the one with the input, he's the one with the vision. I am so impressed with the grand tapestry Riz is weaving with the Earth-Two titles, and I can't wait for everyone else to see it, too!

The DC2 Flash issue was the perfect lead in to this, no accident I am sure. Worked out pretty well, didn't it! (That's all I'm going to say about that ) Hmm... That's a good guess... But my lips are sealed! The Hellstone is a wicked, cosmic artifact--- what are the chances anyone who comes in contact with it remains unscathed? Thanks for reading, Jay, and for the feedback! I'm really looking forward to Titans, myself!

That was pretty much my issue, yeah. There's no denying that the art was fantastic, but it felt kind of shoved into the middle of the story where it didn't belong. If they had been illustrations of the scenes they would in, that wouldn't have bugged me. But random snapshots of the characters were just kinda weird. Putting them at the end would fix that right up

It would be nice if the text could flow around the pics... Tim? Is there any chance to do that on a messageboard? I know how it works with HTML, but no idea how to do it here... But the pics at the end are the second best option. ;D

well, what i'm saying is that having pictures in the middle of the story that are not illustrations of what is happening in that scene is distracting. Putting the pictures at the end, or making the pictures illustrations, would not be

Very nice first issue.
Loved the idea of the old pre-crisis Earth 2 (Where we got to see the characters age and 'evolve', even if I never really followed DC much back then.) and nice to see that concept exist on our Earth Two.
Excellent art as usual, (I wish I had even half your talent.) although some of it (Superman, Flash) fit better as they actually seemed to follow the current scene, but none of the pics 'took me out' of the story.
Nice fight scene, and a rather Lovecraftian feel to the antarctic scene. ;D
Definately looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this title, as well as eventually views into the past of Earth Two.

Thank you, James! I think it's pretty neat, too. Honestly, I'm in love with this concept, it's kinda like having a Roy Thomas-type DCU E2, but with the Silver Age characters! That was the idea with the order I posted them: make them fit as much as possible. Thanks on both! I've been doing this fan fic thing for going on 4 years now, and I've written a lot of big fight scenes, and I have to say: this one was one of my favorite! As for the Lovecratian twist, I couldn't help myself. As the story unfolds, I think the scope of the cosmic threat will conjure natural similarities, but it doesn't go much further than that. I'm glad someone caught it, though! Lots of crazy stuff, we promise! Don't forget to check out our sister title, Titans, now posted! Thanks for the feedback!
