heh heh. Did you choose the name Carol Danvers to make fun of Ms. Marvel? Or was that a coincidence? The issue was fun to read. I liked it.

Well more an in-joke then making fun of her. But I do find the similarities between the characters interesting. Similar power set. Same last name. (At least the pre-crisis and Matrix versions of Supergirl) and Kara sounding similar to Carol. Of course I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel 'based' Ms. Marvel on Supergirl. James.

I loved this issue. It's really just a series of vignettes, some longer than others, but each one is a great little moment, and Kara learning her powers is always fun to watch.
and oh! shock and surprise revelation XD we have fun mixing things up on earth-5, and this is just another great little nugget.

I wonder how long it will be before Superman hears of this.
The bit where she was confused for Marvel are amusing.
And of course the villains lie in wait....

To find out about the Superman connection to Supergirl in Earth-Five, check out Samantha Chapman's upcoming mini-series "Last Sun of Krypton" for all the answers! Starting in June! Meanwhile, back to Supergirl: good issue. Light, easy, day in the life stuff, Supergirl and Kara settling into the routine, nice dialog with Linda, who is the real star of the series as far as I'm concerned. I liked it. And then...well, you just can't get rid of those damned Kents, can you? Take care Don

As usual, I enjoy the take you're bringing to this series, you've got a real gift for the characters and the setting and you're clearly not afraid to take risks with the series either, which I think is really great.
I like the touches you took with this one, showing Kara in the course of a "normal" day for her as she starts to head on the path to becoming a hero. It's great the way her powers are revealed slowly and logically - but with a measure of nonchalance - you don't feel the need to give us a "flying" issue or an "invunerability" issue where she's pushed to the limits in some epic manner. Good to see you're saving that for something that deserves it, like the inevitable confrontation with The Calculator.
And of course, the nice touch with the ending - if this issue doesn't say all that Earth Five is about, I don't know what does.
Great job, can't wait for the next one.

Great issue, James. I love how Kara is being the good samaratian (sp?) in San Fran. I love how the mugger just ran right into the pole, lol. Half the battle for Kara.
