Just a superb piece of writing, Brian--- and Riz, what a way to follow up an explosive debut! The tension goes from 10 to 11 here, as the war between the Titans and the HIVE escalates! I love seeing folks like Dick, Joey, Vic and Gar--- and am intrigued by the additions of "classics" like Bette, "fill-ins" like Argent and Hotspot, and fan-faves like Ravager. But where's Donna, Roy, Garth and Kory? (I do, of course, know where to find Raven ;D) Lots of kick-butt action! Man, Brian, you know how to write a fight scene! Must be all that practice on New Outsiders ! The partnership between Dick and Joey fondly recalls their earliest days (this can't help but evoke the Judas Contract, one of the greatest comic storylines of all time), but it's obvious this is a whole new ballgame. Great character interactions--- especially between Gar and his wife (!) and Dick and Toni. Loved the scare with Rose--- I didn't realize how much the character had grown on me until that moment. And what a cliffhanger! This is leading somewhere big. Once again, Riz comes through with some beautiful pictures. Not only is the cover exceptional (Batman has nothing on Nightwing in this pic!), but it was neat to see a mature Gar and Bette Logan, and those Roll Call thumbs are so awesome! Keep up the good work, fellas! Looking forward to the next issue, and to see where this is going!

So we're onto issue two of a two-issue extended battle sequence, it felt like. Yeah the beginning had something of a break, but we've got lots of action and lots of rushing around and "name-dropping" of hints to the past, but still not getting the depth on these characters. I'd like to see more. Vic and Rose get some depth, Gar is the same and yet grown and that was cool, and Joseph gets to shine, which is great. But the story just seems to be bouncing around with no real depth, and the emotional reveals (such as with Argent and Dhark) still lack without more depth to care about. Also, the revelation with Dhark also kind of failed. The Titans have a foe like this already, it's Brother Blood. And with Tartarus mentioned, there's another foe with an MO like this one, Vandal Savage (not saying Savage is a member of this E2 Tartarus, but he did form the DCU Tartarus and so his visage kind of looms over the concept). It failed for me, I should say, because we already have these sorts of characters, with greater depth and history and resonance. I did love Dick's response to Rose's near-sacrifice. That and the peeks with Gar to the good ole Dick were great to see. Here's keeping fingers crossed that we're getting the cool Dick back. Gar and Bette together seems strange, and doesn't quite work for me, but it might grow on me...and hey, its' awesome seeing these two, and being happy together, and whoot! They're players in this story. I love that. Flamebird just makes me happy to see. Now we just have to get Gar back to his good name of CHangeling and away from this Beast Boy/Beast silliness, and all will be right with the world. Joseph...ahh, yeah, Joseph. You continue to hold a soft place in my heart, and keep it up, you're also right on the money. A little better, a little stronger, but we need more grounding in the world of the Titans for me. We'll see how issue three goes. Take care don

Great job guys. The story action was great, Brian. I laughed at the Captain Kirk line. And Riz is outdoing himself with the yet another eye-popping cover. My only complaint still is that it doesn't seem like this delivers on the Earth 2 concept as much as it just seems like a slightly older Titans with a few different members. It could just be that this doesn't match up with the timelines I had worked up in my head so please take this criticism with a grain of salt. A very enjoyable read and I'll definitely be back for more.

All the things you critizised was my fault. Brian is writing after my script, so blame on me. All the good things were his doing.

First, thank you all for you comments. They do mean a lot. As I've always stated, writing is an art form that one can only continue to work at and hopefully get better as time goes on. Constructive criticism is an important part of that. I realized that my two years of doing regional theater. Second, Riz and I are partners in this. And both highs and lows are both of ares to share. Riz has a great script going, if anything, I've dropped the ball a bit on this title. Have no fear, folks, hang with us and we will continue to do our best as only we can. Third, thank you again for you responses. They do mean a lot. The story shall continue and the past will be revealed. Just hang with us. Partners in Crime, Riz and Brian

Okay, first off Brian, if you're partners on this, then neither of you have done all the good stuff, and neither of you has dropped the ball. You've both done both. That's what you've just tried to insist on, so I'll hold you both to it. So deal with the fact that it's not your fault. No one's actuall AT fault, there's just work to improve. And that's just my view. Others are much happier with the series, and that's cool.
Second, you're absolutely correct, Brian. Only through constructive criticism can a writer and an artist improve their skills. And that critique comes through feedback. So come on people, give feedback to each other please. To everyone. There are many creative talents working here and they all deserve a chance to get feedback, commentary, a chance to grow and get critique that helps and praise that inspires. So lets not all just focus on the one or two people that might be long friends. Let's all tackle the slew of titles and Earths. We all deserve it, and we all should be responsible to our community fellows.
Take care Don

Love Joey and Rose, of course. Worried about Dick more than somewhat.
You've made Damien Darhk much cooler and more menacing than he was when he appeared in the Devin Grayson run, so kudos for that!
I think I even know where you got the Gar/Bette pairing from.
And hm....I wonder who exactly they're cloning...

Thanks for letting me in on the different timeframe you guys are using, Riz. I promise I won't complain anymore about Dick's age. I don't think there's any blame to go around guys. Great cover, good story, fun dialogue. All the way around I'm digging it!
