Somehow it always takes me a little while to get around here, but I'm never, ever dissapointed when I do The main story is still thrilling and taking great twists, and I can't wait to see the rest. The back-up stories add so much to the title, both letting more of your huge cast get some spotlight, and giving them a little bit of breathing room (ocassionally). And for some reason, the phrase "mystery men" always makes me smile. Your tone and setting are excellent, and a great change of pace from the modern-day stories on the rest of the site. We can tell you love writing them, and it's a good thing, because I love to read it! Mock

I always love the depth of description you give, and remain envious of your ability to choreograph action - especially given the number of pieces you're moving around in a given issue, it's absolutely amazing the way you keep all the action so clear with such a large cast.
It's also great how well you capture the era so well, in language and tone, while keeping it modern for the reader. That has got to be a tricky balance, but you never fail to capture it, which is just a testament to your skills as a writer.
Another thing that's impressive is the ability to let the Nazis be Nazis without falling into offensive territory, and a big part of that is your ability to set the tone as mentioned above.
I really loved the battle sequence with Blitzkreig and Wonder Woman here, I thought it was done really well, you gave us a lot of action but it all followed through organically, the shifting power sets kept everything from getting stale while increasing the level of challenge for our heroine without making her seem completely outmatched. You struck a really nice balance. The Mister America sequences as well were very effective, especially the way he kept going even when the odds were completely against him.
Kent and Inza continue to be a great match for one another, the balance between Kent and Fate is as fascinating a battle as anything else you present us with and with Inza around, at least there's a chance of the fight lasting a good long while.
Having Flash leave the wooden door open for Alan was a really nice touch. Love these little character bits.
This issue definitely sets the stakes and the scale of the battle to come without feeling like filler or the needless padding out of story - the first story comes to an end with ominous portent, but at least we know the cavalry is on the way.
The second feature is just as much fun, the interplay of Ted Knight and Libby Lawrence is really well handled, they seem like as great a pairing outside the costumes as they do inside them, and adding Johnny Quick into the mix can only add to what you're doing - the brash opposition of personalities is a great contrast, and certainly not what I expected.
This story is clearly only beginning as well, both in-costume and out and this too serves as a great set up for things to come without seeming like padding. Can't wait to see what the next issue offers.
