Just as much fun as ever. Johnny's really adorable Sue Nammy indeed. And I'm continuing to love the Tsunami plot, looking forward to seeing where it goes next. as for the backup, Tarantula's book made me giggle, and Belle is still a great, strong character. Mid-Nite was pretty excellent too. So many characters, so little time, but all with great characterization and exploits.

Sue Nammy - classic!
Loved this issue Don, it was a lot of fun and once again managed to deal with evolution of attitudes and opinions without having an after school special sort of feel to it.
The confrontation with Myers and Sandman was done really well, I thought it was handled very well with two men who believe in decidedly different things, yet you manage to refrain from taking the easy way out and making Myers just the complete villain in the scene while making it decidedly obvious he was in the wrong.
The Atom's revelation is handled in an equally effective manner, it's nice to see him turn around on the issue, especailly has shown in the final line of the story, I thought it was handled really well, and again without seeming cheesy or obvious.
Johnny Thunder was clearly the star of this issue, the full-scale optimism of his interaction with Miya and the give and take of their conversation, colored by his more folksy ways really worked well here. I liked how he never really considered a physical reaction, just simply believed in the goodness and purity of what he was saying. It's refreshing to see a character so devoid of cynicism not portrayed as an anachronism or for laughs - you do that well here as well as in Mightiest Mortals.
It's really refreshing.
Clearly Tsunami's story isn't finished, and I can't wait to see how it's resolved, if Johnny's words are able to help show her the light. She could be a pretty big asset, I would imagine to both the war effort and the heroic community in general.
The second story returns us once again to Liberty Belle, her interaction with Tarantula has that great heroes meet up/attack one another thing thats always so much fun.
I like how you keep reinforcing the notion not only of the jobs these heroes have outside of the "mystery men" lifestyle, but also the novelty of the concept. Too often in comics people don't really explore the changes a society would have once people started dressing up and fighting crime - bored society types do it for fun, we've met reporters and now a writer documenting the people and the effects they have. It's really a great and thoughtful touch.
Doctor Mid-Nite's battle in the bar is another great bit, really shows everything he'd learned from The Shadow, and reinforcing what Tarantula learned last issue about the gangs, and especially since Belle and Tarantula just got themselves in a bit of a bind, we can only hope he comes through to help them save the day.
Great efforts as always, Don, can't wait for the next one.
