This has been an enjoyable series so far, and I love botht he cover and the interior art on this one. Awesome Sabac!
What has really impressed me, though, is the way the writer has gently reminded us that altough Billy and CM are the same, they are also very different. Yet both of them are still very young.
I enjoyed the scene with Shazam so much that I read it twice.
Great job!

Thank you very much for the compliment. Shazam and his relationship with Billy and Captain Marvel are very important to this series, as it should be to the Shazam mythos in every incarnation. I hope to keep bringing this vibe for it's run. For another view of their dealings, be sure to check out Ultimate All-Stars #1.
And as for that shot of Sabbac...yeah, Roy really came through didn't he? Man, ominous and scary!
Take care Don

Another great issue. I particularly liked the subtleness you used when Kit was losing at the video games so that he could give money to Freddy. Awesome ending with the introduction of Sabbac. I know nothing about the guy but just the sense of impending doom at the end of the issue was wonderful. I can’t wait for the next issue. Wait, did I just say that about a Captain Marvel series? P.S. I’ve become a big fan of Black Adam in current comics. Do you have any plans for him in the near or distant future?

I didn't leave myself much time to develop Kit and Freddy and their relationship, so I'm glad the scene came across strong and effective. Kit's tale gets...dark and painful very soon, as the final splash page revealed, but it's far from over.
As for Black Adam...he's in my plans, but for now, he's not even yet on the horizon. But never fear...the first signs of his coming are going to be showing up by year's end.
Take care Don

I don't know why I missed this issue until now (Probably the Christmas hubbub) but better late than never!
Again, some very strong writing overall. I have to say, I loved the scene with Sivana- his interactions with his robot and his pure... insanity... were very amusing, and I found myself chuckling all the way through. Characters like Sivana are just a great deal of fun!
I liked the development of Kit, Freddy and the Billy-Cap Marvel relationship. The key to a good solo book is having a strong supporting cast, and you're really making sure Billy has a great one, always enjoyable.
As others have said, very chilling appearance of Sabbac at the end, and great picture. I feel for Kit, I really do... the guy's in for a world of pain!
If I had to criticise, it would be... well, nothing. The issue wasn't the best I've ever read, but there were no real huge flaws in it, and it had good writing overall. I continue my reluctant experience of actually enjoying something featuring the Big Red Cheese. Keep up the good work, Don!

Ah, the last issue until I'm all caught up. Sucks that I'll have to wait a few days for the next one.
This issue adds yet more memorable characters here- Victor Craize can be a lot of fun without seeming like a blatant parody of any of the current talk radio hosts. That you can do that helps to keep people engaged in the story.
Kit Freeman's appearance here is great too - just continues to build on the family of characters that Billy is surrounded with, and it really makes it clear just how he is set up to be such a hero to Fawcett.
Beautia also continues to be an underappreciated character here, she's handled so well in your hands.
Billy and the Wizard continue to have a great rapport, I love their conversations when they come up. You really find a great voice for the two of them.
And what can I say about the ending? It's a hell of a ride coming up and I look forward not only to see what twists you might add to it, but to what the other readers are going to get to witness for the first time - it's quite the ride.

I finally found a little time to read issues 3 and 4. I really liked it. Billy is a nice character, but the character that interests me most in your story is Kit. Your writing was very good and I had no problems following the story, although I'm not a Captain Marvel reader and have no idea of the "villians". Good work Don. I'll stick around and see what the future brings

Jeez. I've never been a big Shazam/Capt Marvel Fan... but this series is damn good. LOVING Savana right now. His voice is so picture perfect it's frightening. Very nice with Kit.. losing so he can get some money to Freddy. The feel to this series is the key... it's light and enjoyable... and there's nothing dragging to it. Each scene seems like it belongs and isn't shoe-horned in. As with the first two issues... I feel the descriptive nature of everything is so well done I can close my eyes and see the scene. Ok.. enough slobbering. I'm enjoying this... case closed. I am, howver, looking for an appearance from Black Adam I'm sorry it took me so long to get over here and read this. Excellent stuff... even with no time traveling involved! LOL (nudge nudge, wink wink Don! )

Thank you for the wonderful comments. I love the Marvel Family, think they have so much potential that no modern writer can see and grasp properly, and I think that helps to inform the feel. I hope that's the case anyway. Black Adam...he'll appear eventually. Someday. But I have some other big events first. But never fear. I love Sivana, and he's just way too much fun to write. Wait until you see his later capers. You want the Big Red Cheese time traveling? Check out Ultimate All-Stars #1 and 2. I loved Kit and Freddy and writing that scene too. Where it goes from there...? Not so happy...but definitely exciting, I hope. I hope I keep you hooked for more and thanks for the great words. Take care Don

Another solid issue, Don. I honestly believe that you should send a proposal for a Captain Marvel series to DC, because you honestly get it. I've never read an issue of Captain Marvel/SHAZAM! but I judging from the way you write I get a feeling like I've been reading about these characters my entire life.
